The Pod

In a western suburb of Kuala Lumpur, a giant snake-like pavilion has crept its way into an urban landscape.

The Pod is constructed as a series of spherical forms that form a twisting, staggered structure. Commissioned by a businessman who is developing the surrounding land, the Pod houses his on-site offices and sales showroom.

Inspired by water droplets in nature, the structure’s outer and interior walls are curving as elliptical sections in various widths and heights. Slotted in between the rounded walls are windows that allows slithers of natural light to enter.

Inside, the building is divided into two parts: a sales office and showroom-gallery. Both spaces are surrounded with glazed curving white walls, with a sculpture garden at one end and infinity pool at the other.
