Parking garage with 500 parking spaces for Ernsting’s family, 2005-07 Mies van der Rohe Award – shortlist, 2009 BDA Good Building Award-Münster Münster, 2007 German Verzinkerpreis – 1st Prize 2007 Competition for the realization – 1st Prize, 2004 The shape of the two 127 m long building is given by a system of double threaded parking ramps. The two identical, mirror-symmetric parts of buildings complement each other inside a circle drive, outside the body Clasped to the total figure. The obtained free surface between service centers [Architect: David Chipperfield], distribution center [architects: Bruno Reichlin, Santiago Calatrava] and the car park is decorated with trees and grass cushions and integrated into the existing corporate campus. A wooden facade gives the park its natural appearance; the “picket fence facade” is the ideal intermediary between the residential area on one side and the industrial area on the other side. Entry and exit via a centrally arranged Knicktor.
