More »Structures and signage elements, deliberately in white on white, spring from the wall, perfectly integrated in the environment. The numbers that identify the five exhibition galleries are huge white volumes in overhang, with a strong matter quality, whose surface is marked by thick lines. The building perimeter windows became communicative surfaces, decorated with quotes stolen from modern art and architecture, while the MAXXI logo, hand-painted on the perimeter gates, indicates the beginning of a path which takes the visitor from the street to the inner square and then to the entrance. The indications are clear, beautiful as works of art, visible.
This is why the design operation was conceived in observance of the Zaha Hadid’s architecture: the structures and the signage elements were designed to start from concepts of light /shadow /full /empty /rigid /organic shapes which characterize the architecture, These structures and volumes, deliberately in white on white spring from the wall, perfectly integrated in the environmental. The numbers that identify the five exhibition galleries, for example, are huge white volumes in overhang, with a strong matter quality, whose surface is marked by thick lines.
They are “suggestions” for the visitor, who becomes the creator of his path through the Museum, that becames a charming place to visit, but above all, a place where it is wonderful to get lost (to then find yourself again).
