C&VE’s signage program for a community library presented an opportunity to merge past and present. The asymmetrical geometry of an airy, contemporary addition to a renovated Colonial Revival building provides the inspiration for the interior sign system. Comprised of overlapping, translucent, rectangular planes and a distinctive pairing of traditional serif with mid-modern sans serif typography, the system provides a cohesive visual language reference to past and present.
