Del Norte High School

Originally constructed in the early 1960s, Del Norte High School is an important component of Albuquerque Public Schools because of its long traditions and geographical location within the city. The revitalization of Del Norte High School replaced approximately 60 percent of existing buildings and transformed the campus into a modern and technologically advanced school for 1200 students. New classrooms are organized around the small learning communities (SLC) model to provide opportunities for more individual attention. Enhanced pedestrian circulation, easily supervised student gathering spaces, and views of the Sandia Mountains create a sense of transparency throughout the campus. The new facility achieved a LEED Silver certification.
