Inspired by the landscape and history of the Brandywine Valley, this new library is a 21st century meeting house for the community of New Castle County. The library’s forms and materials are inspired by Andrew Wyeths’ pictorial paintings of the Brandywine. Like many buildings depicted in his paintings, this library is designed as a simple stone structure highlighted by the passage of the sun.
