There is no more powerful means of communication than the image. The image transcends the boundaries of language, culture, religion, time and space. I am in the unique position to capture and articulate great architecture into great imagery.

What is the role of your service or specialty in the development of today’s leading architectural ideas?

There is no more powerful means of communication than the image. The image transcends the boundaries of language, culture, religion, time and space. I am in the unique position to capture and articulate great architecture into great imagery. These images can relay what is going on in today’s architecture in a way in which words alone cannot.

What are the latest innovative developments that you are working on?

Within the role of Architectural Photographer, we have embraced the digital age and our shooting with Medium Format digital cameras, which can capture the built environment with such sharpness & clarity, that 35mm cannot. Additionally, with the advancements of Photoshop, we can better achieve in photography, closer to what the eyes sees, above & beyond the constraints of the range provided in the film age.

How can consultants and collaborative firms push the boundaries of what is possible in advancing innovative design and architecture?

By hiring a photographer whom can collaborate and articulate their firm’s innovative design to the masses. This is all about the ability to communicate vision & ideas and good imagery is an integral part of that communication. Good firms have good photography and good photography does not happen by chance. It comes from the collaboration with a photographer with a well-honed eye from years of experience coupled with a distinct understanding of architecture and the architect’s intent. From there comes something magical.

Explain how your expertise was used in and contributed to the success of a particular project?

Rather than speak of a particular project, there are the 100+ projects that have won AIA Awards and numerous projects that have been published worldwide. Through these avenues a greater understanding has been reached of those projects and thus they have communicated that particular architect’s vision to the world around them.
