Community. Innovation. Inspiration. Conversation. Celebration. To members of the global green building community, these words describe the excitement and promise of the green building movement and its future, all of which neatly intersect at USGBC’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. Next month, thousands of members of this diverse community will gather in Toronto, Canada. Oct. 4-7 to celebrate the last 10 years of Greenbuild, and explore where the movement is headed NEXT.

Greenbuild is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building and has become the must-attend event for the global green building community. Now less than a month away, the program is chock-full of outstanding educational sessions, renowned speakers, green building tours, special seminars, and networking events that attendees have come to expect.

Conversation
As USGBC’s LEED green building rating system has become the world’s foremost program for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of green buildings, its Greenbuild has evolved as well. USGBC has developing new and innovative ways to further the conversation at Greenbuild, from summits focused on green building in the residentia & nbsp; and , realms, to events like the Green Job Fair., where professionals can connect with industry leading companies and innovative start-ups.

New and notable at this year’s Greenbuild is a envisioned keynote and closing plenary, a brimming array of LEED-specific sessions, and [email protected], a session designed to further the conversation and increase awareness and adoption of emerging building industry technologies.

Inspiration
Each year, Greenbuild kicks off with an inspirational and rousing keynote address from the ranks of Ret. Gen. Colin Powell, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President Bill Clinton, Paul Hawken and David Suzuki. This year, New York Times Columnist Thomas Friedman and Chair­man of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Global Health and Social Medicine Dr. Paul Farmer, will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss resiliency and how all industries can play a role in community rebuilding efforts in Haiti and around the globe.

This year’s re-imagined brings together leaders from diverse industries who share the common trait of championing sustainability and green building. The sessions not only inspire, six of the nine contribute to the fulfillment of LEED Professional credential maintenance. Learn about earning CEU’s at Greenbuild.

Innovation
Innovation is in the DNA of the green building movement, and Greenbuild showcases the most innovative products, technologies and services that are driving the multi-billion-dollar marketplace. The exhibit hall, featuring more than 1,000 industry-leading organizations, is world’s largest devoted to green building.

Celebration
Greenbuild is never all work and no play. Thousands of Greenbuild attendees will gather on Wednesday evening at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre to celebrate how far the green building movement has come, and toast the second decade of Greenbuild. Featuring a full lineup of inspirational speakers and popular entertainment, this is one celebration you won’t want to miss.

Community
Unique to Greenbuild are the various opportunities to explore the host city through educational sessions and tours that highlight Toronto’s vibrant cityscape. Half-day and full-day tours offer a look at the region’s richly diverse and cosmopolitan offerings. Step outside of the convention center to see first-hand examples of green building and sign up for an Off-site educational session. Back inside the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, attendees take a break in the USGBC Community Lounge, or take part in the burgeoning green building film community at Greenbuild. The annual Greenbuild Film Festival screens hand-selected documentaries, films, and informational videos that promote innovative green building practices and address social, environmental, and health topics related to the built environment.
